So today I calibrated my SD Pro but i'm not getting the correct light flashing for the vertical rotation, it flashes green...not green and red like the manula says. Anyway i decided it was ready to fly and despite being a windy day it flew pretty good until i tried the RTH function which made it fly off at high speed almost out of sight. From pure luck i was able to switch it back to ATTI mode and get it back. Had 6 or 7 sats on take off then got 9 in the air, anyone know how to check when it registers a home point??...on the DJI phantom it flashes green and i usually get around 12 sats with the phantom.
Hi Daryl, At the end of the two verticle rotations, if I hold the quad vertically, it'll flash with the red light green light. But when I return the quad to horizontal, the Green light should return to either blinking once or twice depending on mode. It might take a while for the quad to get it figured out. I think the red light blinks when the GPS signal is lost or is significantly in error (such as being held vertically), but when "righted" it blinks green. A home base may(??) be created when you seen Latitude and longitude readings on your transmitter, which depends on the number of sats received. Your quad might have created it's home base while in the air someplace, so RTH sent if off to that spot?? You might be able to check reliability by using a separate compass to find your current LAT and LONG and then compare with the quads readings. There is NO comparison to the Phantoms. You'll never (IMO) get the same number of sat reception on the PRO as you will on the Phantom. IMO,if you plan to use GPS,until you move your GPS puck outside, your sat reception will be marginal at best. P.S. PROs are not to be trusted.
thanks for your reply, ive tried the calibration several times on firmware 2.2 and now 2.3 it either flashes yellow or green in the vertical position after rotating 2-3 times, the only time it flashes red is when you try and angle between vertical and horizontal. i will have to keep tying and testing i guess...i have ordered a independant GPS for OSD, this Splashdrone really is a downgrade from the DJI Phantom
Hi, When doing the verticle calibration, right at the 720 degree rotation, I think you'll notice a change in the lights...I usually see a yellow flash or two, then some reds. I think the yellow flash is confirmation that calibration is complete. The red then flashes due to GPS error(being tilted). But when the quad is placed on a level surface, any red or yellow flashing lights should go away and you should see only the green light flashing.
I have made modifications to my PRO which have significantly increased it's reliability (external GPS puck and Video Tx antenna) but I still won't fly this out of sight. I am planning on adding an external light (as others have done) to aid in flight orientation.
Since you have updated the firm ware, be sure to note the different switch positions for GPS/Atti operation!!!

chris: marksdrone: just had the same issue with mine. It may be the accelorometer that you need to calibrate first and then do the compass after that.
